KMT says: In democratic countries, it is unlikely for citizens to vote on propositions of economic nature.

KMT says: In civilized, democratic countries, it is almost impossible to find instances in which citizens vote on propositions of economic nature.
Obviously, US is neither civilized nor democratic. Here is one of the thousands of propositions of economic nature, in California:

Proposition 1D, the Kindergarten-University Public Education Facilities Bond Act of 2006, will appear on the Nov. 7 general election ballot. The bond will pay for new and upgraded facilities and equipment for California’s K-12 schools, community colleges and universities.
